1997

1997 Welcome Letter

Dear Friends,

Oh what a year! I've learned so much, and spoken with so many of you who have been kind enough to give me feedback. 99% of what I have heard from you has been positive, and I'm so appreciative of your input. It's refreshing to know that there are others of you out there nurturing your children and watching them blossom and thrive on attachment parenting, held tightly in their family's loving arms.

I have added more mama-artist's work to this issue, we are a little bigger, a little bolder, and very excited about the Attachments line of products. My collection of children's books featuring breastfeeding and the family bed is growing, and I couldn't resist adding a few extra books that I thought would fit right in with a respectful parenting philosophy.

A wise woman once said, :What is necessary for the baby and child is not always what is easiest for the parents". In July of this year, the author of those words and a very special light went out in our universe. Bonnie, a special woman was a strong voice for attachment parenting, left us here without her, questioning the fairness of life.

Starting with this Fall 1997 issue, I will be donating a portion of the profits from the sale of my poster "Michelle and Baby Phoebe" to breast cancer research in memory of Bonnie.

Hug your children tightly, for they are precious and dear. No task is more important than meeting their needs right now.
