2001 Welcome Letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Attachments! To both our old friends and those of you who have just made our acquaintance, our family welcomes you. When I say "family," it not only means the obvious, as this business is family-run. “Family” also means all the friends who help to make this catalog happen. From the very beginning in 1996 when the seeds of this idea started to grow, we have had the help and good thoughts from so many of you. Many mothers have contributed to Attachments, but get little recognition.

For five years, my friend Joy has been proofreading the catalog rough draft, double-checking my punctuation and correcting my spelling. Lara designed my logo, which has served us well from the beginning. Beki, my die-hard graphic designer, has put this catalog together from my chicken scratch and has been patient with me when I accidentally undo something on the Web site that she had previously perfected. My shopping cart programmer, Ashley, doesn't scold me when I send her five e-mails in two minutes in a panic about some command I've deleted. Coleen, my doll maker since the beginning, just sews and sews, has a baby, then sews some more. The cycle keeps going. All of you out there who give me book titles, tell me about new products or ideas, I thank you. Thank you for believing in this journey and supporting its cause. And last but not least, thank you to my customers, without whom we wouldn't be here. Your support, kind words and love notes mean so much.

This year we're printing one catalog, so if you're holding this in your hand, hang onto it or pass it on to a friend if you no longer need it. Like families, we keep growing and changing. Check out our Web site at www.attachmentscatalog.com, as we sometimes have items there that are not listed in the paper catalog. There's also a sale page on the Web, and you know you don't want to miss that!

And lastly, look around at the people in your life that help you get your job done. Appreciate them and tell them what they mean to you. Family is precious, and it extends farther than the walls of your house.
