  Breastfeeding Advocacy Cards Once I was driving through a bank atm and I spied a mama sitting in her car at the restaurant next door. She was nursing her baby. I pulled around the tight corner and decided to give her a thumbs-up as I drove by. It was a tight turn and I was fumbling with deposit envelopes as I tried to gesture to her quickly. Imagine my red face and her saucer eyes when I hit the curb just in front of her. I really wanted to give her a signal that she was doing a good thing. She most likely thought I was some sort of kook. I’ve managed to smile widely at other strangers in malls and parks, without causing damage, but I wonder if they know exactly why I’m smiling. I’ve also seen mamas carrying their babies into bathroom stalls to nurse at restaurants. I’ve come up with these advocacy cards because I think it would be an easy way to send a positive message. My hope is that it will make some mama’s day special to receive one, that it would encourage her, and maybe another advocate will be born. There are 25 business cards in a pack which come in a protective plastic case. A great addition to your purse or backpack.
