Breastfeeding Books for Kids
 I'm pleased to offer this wonderful book, and even more pleased to see Ashley Wolff as illustrator as she also illustrated one of Attachments old favorites, Only The Cat Saw. This book celebrates the warm and loving bond between mammal mamas and their babies. With many illustrations of little ones being fed naturally, it's a wonderful choice for snuggling up to read with an older sibling as they learn how their new baby will be fed. This book shows human and animals feeding in their natural environment and can serve as a science lesson with fascinating facts presented. Included is that kangaroo's milk is pink, and calf elephants can nurse up to five years! How's that for promoting attachment style parenting. Hardback
 Colleen has written a sweet and sensitive book all about the breastfeeding relationship. With full color pictures this book offers a real life peek at babies, mamas and daddies of all kinds. Shared sleep, tandem, nursing, nursing while pregnant, and sling wearing is also shown on the delightful pages of this book. This is a must-have addition to your child's library. Paperback
 There are alot of things that are special about this book but one that made me want to carry it is the fact that it was designed, printed and assembled in the US. The author Lauren, who is Mez's mom, assembles the book herself with organic cotton binding in her home. Lauren and Jason say:

This books talks about changes that will be going on in your home, and in mama's personality while she is pregnant. It covers how hungry mama will be, how she will feel sick, how her lap gets smaller, and things a big sister or brother can do to help at home to get ready. This delightful book covers crying and how babies do a lot of it, how they eat, sleep, and need their diapers changed a lot!  Baby Whales Drink Milk, by Barbara Juster Esbensen When my oldest daughter was in grade school she brought this book home from a book fair. She was excited to show me that she found a book that talked about human mamas feeding milk to their babies from their bodies as well as great lessons about other mammals, whales in particular who provide milk for their young.
 Mariana and the Merchild, a Folk Tale From Chile, by Caroline Pilcher Lavishly illustrated by Jackie Morris, this book tells the story of a lonely old woman who learns about love and friendship via a gift from the sea. A small merchild, who needs protection from the angry sea wolves, is cared for by this old woman until her mother, the sea spirit, can make the sea safe for her.There is a gorgeous nursing illustration in this book that I would love to frame if I could. This is one of those books your children will ask you to read over and over. It's a very sweet story. HB, Breastfeeding
Add this book to your list of great books to get an older sibling who is expecting a new baby brother or sister. It's the story of a small boy who feels the baby kick inside his mother's tummy and hears the baby's heartbeat during a visit to the doctor. The book is narrated by the boy himself and covers the pregnancy, birth, and homecoming of baby sister Eliza.
