We're looking for a few good books!
Here at Attachments we're always looking for new books to add to our collection. We're not looking for quantity, we're looking for quality. Children's books that show nursing, baby wearing, the family bed, and home birth are right on target. Please do not suggest a book if it shows the use of pacifiers, bottles, excessive crib use, or uses stereotypes or generalities like "the terrible twos" and "good girl/boy" or "bad girl/boy".
We do carry a few books that show bottles - specifically Welcoming Babies. In this book the content is so obviously pro-breastfeeding, family bed and baby wearing that we have decided to overlook the bottles shown because it is clearly being given by daddy and other relatives. In Welcoming Babies the bottles shown on the counter are obviously for a stay-at-home dad to give while mama works. These are situations where the bottle isn't being tossed into the illustration for any other reason except to help in the promotion of the bottle as a symbol of infancy.
We receive a lot of book suggestions for fabulous children's books, they make us smile, and sometimes bring a tear to the eye. But to keep our focus we really only want suggestions that fit the above criteria.
